Share: The class atmosphere on Tuesday night ceramics in PCC’s Visual Art department is unreserved and easygoing. Two artists brought cookies to share. Students chatted while they wedged clay, a process of kneading the clay to remove air. In the coming weeks, it will be fired at 2300 degrees Fahrenheit to become art. Performing arts dean taking final bow at semester’s end

Share: After 33 years of working for Pasadena City College (PCC), the dean of the performing and communication arts department, James Arnwine, has decided to retire after the Spring 2018 semester. Before coming to PCC, Arnwine worked at Pasadena High School as the band instructor for four years. He came to PCC in 1985 as an instrumental music professor. Share: Downtown Los Angeles’ Smorgasburg appeared in Santa Monica this past Saturday, only steps away from its sandy beach. As its second pop up on the Westside, it did not disappoint whatsoever. Badminton remains perfect, eyes state championship

Share: PCC’s badminton team had a busy weekend in San Francisco beating De Anza College 16-5 as a team, keeping their winning streak alive. Head coach Jennifer Ho talked about how PCC was able to easily dominate De Anza. “To be honest, I was expecting better competition,” Ho explained. “We were prepared for a higher level of competition, but we were able to win pretty easily. Women’s swim trade wins and losses

Share: PCC’s Women’s Swim Team returns home with one win and one loss after Friday’s dual meet at Rio Hondo. PCC won against Rio Hondo with a 135-111 margin, while losing against Mt. San Antonio with a 135-111 during Fridays Women’s Swim events, placing PCC’s Women’s Swim Team at a 3-1 record in the South Coast Conference. Men’s swim comes home #1 in conference

San Antonio and Rio Hondo this past Friday, giving them a 4-0 record in the South Coast Conference. Dazzling, defiant, but disappointed: Lancers lose at Diablo Valley

Share: Last Friday, the Lancers were unable to secure victory in their swim meet against Diablo Valley College, but tasted some redemption on Saturday at De Anza College. Despite winning only 8 of the 27 races in a losing effort against Diablo valley College on Friday, the Lancers did defeat De Anza college, and on Saturday, won the the College of Marin Invitational.
