The Academic Senate voted unanimously to support the Architecture Department’s bid to remain part of the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts after the department was informed by administrators that it will be moving to the Career and Technical Education division.
EDITORIAL: Oops they did it again
Did this administration make absolutely sure that the realignment of the college’s academic divisions would withstand legal scrutiny and follow Chancellor’s Office policies? Does comprehensive data exist to support such realignment? Were reasonable voices heard and, most importantly, is it in the best interest of students?
New teaching division structure approved
A radically new structure for the teaching divisions of the college was approved by the Board of Trustees on Aug. 29.
The number of teaching divisions is reduced from 13 to six.
Some baffled by restructuring
Members of the campus community are upset, confused, and ashamed by the Aug. 29 vote by the Board of Trustees to radically restructure teaching divisions at the college.
