PCC President Dr. Rajen Vurdien presented updates to PCC’s accreditation report status at the Board of Trustees meeting last Wednesday. The revised report has been approved by a series of several governance groups in the college, including ASPCC, the classified senate, and the faculty senate.
Retreat breeds collegiality despite bleak budget outlook
Faculty, staff, administrators, and students gave up several hours last Friday to attend the first Annual Budget Retreat, where representatives from all levels of shared governance came together to review and prioritize budget requests based on the mission of the college as the school prepares for a bleak financial outlook from the state.
ACCJC puts school on probation
Pasadena City College officials announced last week that the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) decided to maintain PCC’s accreditation while putting the school on probation for not being able to work together for the betterment of the students and the institution. Academic Senate votes against Accreditation report
The Academic Senate voted 17 to 14 last month not to certify the final draft of the Accreditation Self-Evaluation Report after Academic Senate President Eduardo Cairó refused to sign the document because he said it was improperly created.
