After losing to the City College of San Francisco in the championship game of the Hilton Garden Inn Classic earlier in the season, Kinyada Johnson, Easter Faafiti and company knocked the top ranked Rams (33-3) out of the California Community College Athletic Association Final Eight Tournament in a tight, 95-93 overtime victory Friday at Selland Arena in Fresno.

Women’s Basketball to Play in State Final After Win Over Ventura

The PCC women’s basketball team will face San Joaquin Delta College in the championship game of the California Community College Final Eight Tournament today at 3:30 p.m. at Selland Arena in Fresno.The fourth seeded Lancers (32-4) eliminated the south second seeded Ventura (34-1) College Pirates 106-93 in Selland Arena earlier today. They handed the previously undefeated Pirates their first loss of the season to advance to their third championship game in six years.

The PCC softball team has not been a stranger to close games this season, and Thursday’s game at East Los Angeles College was no different. The Lancers lost 4-1 to the Huskies in a game that was tight until the end.The Huskies were celebrating the dedication of their softball field before the game, but it was PCC who had something to cheer about first when they got on the board in the fourth inning.
