Women’s Basketball sophomores visit Division I programs

The three remaining sophomores from this season’s women’s basketball team have all yet to sign letters of intent to four-year universities, but all have Division I aspirations.Lynette Jacobs has already verbally committed to Texas Southern, a Division I program in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), but still has visits to Robert Morris (Moon Township, PA) and Xavier of Louisiana.

New ‘green’ panel holds first meeting

The Ad Hoc Committee for Sustainability met for the first time on Monday in hopes of getting the program grounded for support.The new committee, approved by the Academic Senate, focuses on shifting the way the college approaches education by incorporating relevant and contemporary issues such as global climate change into the learning experience.

Baseball team falls to ELAC

The Lancer bats broke out early for six runs in the first inning and yet PCC still found a way to lose, falling 13-10 on the road to East L.A. College on Tuesday.Head coach Evan O’Meara was visibly distraught after the game, pacing up and down the third baseline after he watched his club give up 13 runs and a season-high 21 hits.

Track team heads to SoCal prelims

Even with a less than normal performance from members of the men’s and women’s track and field teams, five athletes will be advancing to the Southern California Preliminaries Meet on Saturday.Leading up to the prelims, men’s track and field placed seventh overall and women’s placed sixth at the South Coast Conference Championships on April 25.
