Prop 8 Ruling Divides California

The California Supreme Court’s 6-1 decision upholds Proposition 8’s ban on same-sex marriage while maintaining that the marriages of the estimated 18,000 same-sex couples who wed prior to last November, prior to the ban, remain valid. The result of this decision is contradictory and gives rise to inequality by dividing California’s citizens into three separate groups under the law, each with different access to a valid marriage.

The structured 19-year-old music major says that living a disorganized life is her “pet peeve,” and to look at her bags, you would believe it.

Silent Auction Benefits Asian Association

The Asian Association on campus is currently hosting a silent auction scheduled to end on Friday at 1 p.m. Items for bid are on display in the Shatford Library. The idea of the silent auction is to replenish scholarship funds the association can offer. Faculty and community members donated the items available for bid.
