The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was implemented with the goal of giving low-income families access to reasonably priced health insurance and lowering costs for all Americans. However, once again, premium rates are predicted to spike next year, leaving many Americans with much lighter pocketbooks.

The U.S. department of health and human services reported that in 2017 ACA premium insurance rates will rise an average of 25%. Justified by the budget’s agenda to have better coverage on services, but, in fact, the ACA has been making health care even more unaffordable for the uninsured.

The US Census Bureau recorded a 3% increase in premium cost for an average family since January 2014.  Instead of helping low-income families afford insurance, each and every year ACA has raised the premium price higher, failing its original mission to help insurance become more accessible.

The effort to pull the ACA together goes into the trash as more and more insurance companies pull out on their own customers, leaving little to no option for the buyers to choose an insurer. According to a research from the Kaiser Family Foundation, most of the biggest American insurers, the Aetna, UnitedHealthCare, etc … are going to withdraw their plan completely for Obamacare customers.

Fewer insurers mean fewer price competition for the buyers, limiting buyer’s options of hospitals and healthcare services. Fortunately, the  ACA is going down together with Obama presidency.

Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump wanted to do away with most of Obamacare, so it’s obvious that Americans wanted to see an escape out of the ACA crushing grip. Americans worship freedom, yet voters are forced into a salary-solid-frame where their wages can not afford the expensive federal subsidies.

The best solution for health care, nevertheless should not be enforced by the government. We the people can vote and decide everything that is good for ourselves with our dollar, we should also be able to choose if we want to protect our fragile lives or not. The government then can provide different rates for different ranges, but the choice should be from the people. Healthcare should not be forced on anyone.
