After mass shootings, students ‘insecure’ about campus safety

Share: In a culture obsessed with violence, from video games to movies, the sound of gunshots are dishearteningly familiar to both children and adults. The normalization of gun violence and mass shootings perpetuate this cultural marker that is very specific to the United States. Every time one of these tragedies happen, the last one as recently as this week in a small Northern California town, an echo of thoughts and prayers cloud the conversation, making gun reform virtually impossible to even conceptually be discussed. Comedians must hold peers accountable for sexual misconduct

Share: It’s been a couple of weeks since the New York Times published an explosive article that detailed five accounts of sexual misconduct against renowned comedian Louis C.K. Despite the horrific tales, other male comedians such as Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost, Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers have taken small jabs when it’s come to criticizing their fellow comedic friends.   When Colbert brought up Louis C.K. in his opening monologue, he did so with a delicate and rehearsed explanation—it was less of a criticism …

I resumed to observe the small space, appreciating the tranquil blue walls and lounge area; you’ll feel as if you’ve walked into a friend’s …

Be afraid: Artificial intelligence threatens to ‘destroy humans’

Share: When I think of robots, I think of “I, Robot,” a film Will Smith starred in that was based on robots living and acting like citizens to help keep humans safe. Sophia is a robot that was created and has recently been named a citizen of Saudi Arabia and all I can think of is how incredibly mind blowing it is that we have come to accept a non-breathing product as almost human like.
