Community Education Center to Benefit From 5K Run
PCC and Pasadena Forward are collaborating for the second time to sponsor a 5K run to benefit PCC’s Community Education Center on July 25 at the Rose Bowl. The 5K run will be one loop around the Rose Bowl, 3.1 miles according to Israel Estrada, executive director of Pasadena Forward non-profit organization.

PCC Legend Honored With Bust
PCC honored legend Stan Gray with the unveiling of the bust of the former student and athlete who played on the Pasaden Junior College baseball team from 1937 to 1939.The bust was unveiled in the GM Building in the Academic Athletic Zone which is named after Gray.
Faafiti To Attend College For Hearing-Impaired
2008-09 All-State First Team forward Easter Faafiti plans to accept a scholarship to play basketball for Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.Faafiti was a key contributor during the Lancers’ run at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Final Eight Tournament.
Veterans Issues Aired at Symposium
The problems veterans are facing when returning home from the war and into colleges were discussed in the PCC Forum on Friday.Patricia D’Orange-Martin, a counselor for PCC for 20 years and the coordinator for “The Road Home” symposium said many colleges do not have policies that help veterans and it is important to have a “transition” from military life to college.
Top PCC Award To Be Given To Instructor
Presently enrolled PCC students and staff have nominated 12 PCC faculty members for the 2009 Risser Outstanding Teacher Award, given annually to a full-time, tenure track, or tenured PCC professor. The winner receives $1,000 and the Risser Outstanding Teacher Recognition Plaque.
