The familiar sound of cumbias blared in the background skirts swaying to the beat of the music, as varying dialects of spanish excitedly chattered over the notes-characteristic of any good family party. Bright, framed paintings of pan dulce and earrings made from loteria cards conjured powerful images of childhood.

Silverlake Flea Market: just like any other market

The Silverlake Flea is held during the afternoon hours which can be a good or bad thing here in Los Angeles. This past weekend the weather was very nice but if you are out too long it gets hot and is not the most comfortable weather to shop in. Especially when you are trying to find any hidden gems or bargain with vendors.
