A tired but resilient Lancers defense had remained on the field for a little over seven minutes. On the other side of the ball, Mt. San Jacinto Eagles were hopeful that they could score the equalizer, down 21-14 in the third quarter. The Lancers faced another fourth down after an offsides penalty ruined a great fourth down stop by Lucio Rodriguez and the rest of the defense.

Standing with hands on knees, Freshman middle Danielle Johnson could only watch Thursday night with her team (PCC) up 22-21 in the second set. If the Lancers could close it out, they would be up two sets to none, otherwise, the match would be tied at a set a piece.
Hit or miss season for baseball leads to 5-4 record
After a rough outing versus Mt. San Jacinto on Feb. 20, the men’s baseball team rebounded nicely with an 8-5 win over Ventura last Thursday before losing in dramatic fashion to Rio Hondo 3-2 over the weekend.
Women’s soccer blows late lead
The PCC women’s soccer team took to the road Friday, traveling to Moorpark College and leaving with a 1-1 draw. Friday’s draw was the fourth of six road games to start the 2014-15 season.
