People woud work harder if they were paid a higher wage,” Hugo Tong, radiology Mary Nurrenbern / Courier “I don’t think making the minimum wage higher would work because the cost of living is getting higher. It wouldn’t realy help. People used to be able to live on minimum wage but there’s no way that you can do that now,” Anthony Marino, humanities Mary Nurrenbern / Courier “I like that idea. Who doesn’t need more mone right now? Everybody complains about the current minimum wage and it seems like it’s not enough. People have to work 2- 3 jobs to break even. Maybe if it goes up, complaints would be less,” Essence Wyatt, art Mary Nurrenbern / Courier “The issue of minimum wage has a lot of probems with it. Especially living by yourself and only earning one income, I don’t see how you can afford rent or pay for food,” Dan Vaughn, television Mary Nurrenbern / Courier “Increasing the minimum wage would be great. It would improve the standard of living for everyone,” Gisela Geralda, business Mary Nurrenbern / Courier “Because I make minimum wage, it would be a nice thing to have that raised. I would spend my extra money on groceries. It would make everythng a little easier,” Janine McCarthy, english Mary Nurrenbern / Courier “It would be great because we obviously need more money. If they raised the minimum wage everything would be more expensive. Maybe they should give us a living wage instead of just minimum wage,” Juan Lara, philosophy “Minimum wage could help workers but employers have a baseline to maintain. If they go over that line they would have to increase part-time workers, decrease full-time jobs and fewer people would have a living wage,” Andrew Wood, business Author Recent Posts Alumni Staff Latest posts by Alumni Staff (see all) EDITORIAL: Apologize about the real problem - April 23, 2014 STATEMENT: District apologizes to Oscar winning alum - April 21, 2014 EDITORIAL: The Forgotten Students - March 26, 2014 Follow:
