Capping off a successful non-conference record, the Lancer women’s soccer team shutout Oxnard 4-0 on Friday at Robinson Stadium. In the eleventh minute, Melissa Fudge received a throw-in from Megan Cowie, which she ran down half the field with, outrunning her defenders. Fudge passed the ball to left into Maya Kasfy’s path, which she shot into the left side of the goal.

Following a few tangles with the goalie it was Fudge again who sent the ball to the goal cage, which Cindy Aguillon put in with a header in the sixty-seventh minute.

Twelve minutes later Kristie Castellon fired in a kick from the corner, which Aguillon again put to her head and in the goal.

All active bench players went in during the final minutes, including Alyssa Becerra who had a shot on goal which was stopped by an Oxnard defender, followed by another shot to the right a few minutes later.

Aguillon finished off the Condors scoring in the final minute of the game for her third goal.

Aguillon remarked on the game and in sight of Tuesday’s matchup.

“I have confidence in my team against Mt. SAC and am happy for scoring three goals for the first time in my college [career],” Aguillon said.

At the half, All-CIF player Alexa Weigand was on her feet dribbling the ball around after being injured two weeks earlier. According to trainer Patty Gallego she should be ready for the battle against Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday.
