The search for the homicide suspect Isaac Campbell, in the slaying of PCC student Liya Jessie Lu, has reached an end after officials arrested him in Minneapolis, Minn. on Thursday.”Isaac Campbell was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit by Minneapolis Police Department’s Violent Apprehension Team,” said Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau Deputy Maribel Rizo.

He will be extradited back to California after preliminary hearings, Rizo added.

Campbell, who was in the nursing program at PCC, was arrested and released for possession of and selling marijuana on Sept. 6, while Lu’s whereabouts were still unknown.

Lu’s body was discovered in a trashcan at a home in Arcadia on Sept. 15, after she was reported missing by her co-workers and cousin Jeremy Zhou on Aug. 11.

“All the officials have done a great job by keeping me informed and for catching Campbell,” said Zhou in Chinese, his native language.

Officials notified Zhou, who is Lu’s only relative in the U.S., about Campbell’s capture around 2 p.m.

“I’m glad that it’s over and that they caught him,” he said.
