Spring is upon us and picking the right clothes while staying on budget is a challenge. How do students stay “chic” without busting their wallets this season?Sara Bitar, 19, English major, who has already began shopping for spring, said that form and light color dresses are what’s she’s looking

forward to.

“I have bought a few sundresses, skirts and some tank tops. I like floral patterns in spring and in terms of colors, I like light pastel colors like pinks, purple and yellow. ” said Bitar.

“I mostly buy my clothes at Forever 21 or H&M sometimes, since their clothes are affordable and nice at the same time,” she said.

Bitar, cooled by the strawberry snow boba from Lollicup that she tried for the very first time that day, was wearing a red dress with white dots from L.E.I, sandals from Rampage, and a headband from Target.

Kristi Case, photography major, mixes a bit of vintage and modern style into her wardrobe. She can’t wait for the warmer days ahead when she doesn’t have to wear so many layers of clothes, but she still favors a dark shade when it comes to color.

“I usually wear black or dark colors, but I do prefer to wear lighter clothes in terms of weight and also wearing bathing suits again, so that’s what I’m looking forward to,” Case said

Case was sporting a vintage leather jacket she bought from Wasteland on Melrose in Los Angeles, pants from Urban Outfitters and shoes from SquaresVille in Los Feliz. She also likes to shop at Ozziedots, where she works. The store offers a collection of different vintage clothing.

Comfort and simplicity is the key to some, like Farzad Sharif, policitcal science major.

“I like to wear what’s comfortable. I’ve probably worn these pair of Levis everyday for a week, and this jacket I got from American Apparel four years ago,” said Sharif

Using eBay as a cyber marketplace is convenient, according to Sharif. He also likes to shop at American Rag Cie on La Brea in West Los Angeles whenever there’s a sale.

“I’m looking forward to those days in spring when I can wear TOMS shoes without the need to put socks on,” Sharif said
