Students looking to transfer to a university can expect a more demanding experience than before officials say.
PCC represented at May Day March
A group of about 20 PCC students carrying signs, a drum, and a megaphone joined the crowd on Saturday in downtown Los Angeles for the May Day March supporting immigration reform.
Increase in student activity fee proposed
A proposed student activity fee would impose a new $10 rate, to be collected from students during registration. A $5 fee during the winter and summer intersession would also be levied.
The Zone helps student athletes
Located in a corner next to the men’s locker room in the GM Building is the Stan Gray Academic Athletic Zone. Student athletes and others come to this small, quiet computer lab to get counseling and to study.
Baseball falls to LBCC in final game
The Lancers baseball team lost its last game of the season against the Long Beach City College Vikings on Tuesday. The high-scoring game took place at Brookside Park’s Jackie Robinson Memorial Field.
Badminton struggles for win
The women’s badminton team continued its win streak with a 12-9 win over visitor De Anza College on Friday at Hutto-Patterson Gym.
Track and Field places high
PCC men’s and women’s track and field teams both finished in fourth place overall in the South Coast Conference finals at Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mt. SAC on Friday.
Aloui wins first place at state
Freshman Sharif Aloui swam to a first place state championship in the men’s 200 freestyle on Friday.
Head coach ejected in baseball game
The Lancers baseball team fell short Tuesday, losing to the Long Beach Vikings 8-3 at Veterans Stadium.The Vikings would out-run, out-pitch, and out-hit the Lancers in every inning. “We just couldn’t play baseball,” said Head Coach Evan O’Meara. Going into the top of the fourth inning, the Lancers would go scoreless while the Vikings held a one-point lead.
Softball ends season with loss to ELAC
The Lancers softball team lost its final game this season against the East Los Angeles College Huskies on April 21 at Brookside Park with a score of 8-1. This is the third time the Lancers have lost to the Huskies over the course of three years.
