Growing up in the 626, you see boba shops on every corner. It’s become natural for people to say “let’s go get a drink” at 10pm and go to a cafe. So when Cafe Roule opened up in Temple City, I went to see if it was just like every other boba place or a hidden gem unlike any other.
‘The Circle’ proves just as pointless as the shape
“Knowing is good. Knowing everything is better.” If there’s any quote from this week’s new film The Circle that summarizes the entire plot of the near two-hour cinematic flop, that’s the one. Go ga-ga for ‘Boss Baby’
“Where do babies come from?” is a question frequently asked by children. Dreamworks’ new movie “Boss Baby” was released in theatres on March 31st, and it answers the questions for kids, but with a twist.
Korean shaved ice cafe sinks sweet standards
Pasadena’s food scene continues to expand its diversity with Milkie and Snowie, the first dessert shop to introduce the city to Korean shaved ice: bingsoo. Walking inside Bambinos the atmosphere is filled with pure positive vibes. The walls have colorful wording on them that stand out to you. Pencil Cafe erases the boring from an everyday lunch
A chalkboard sign with colorful script sits in the sun, with the entrance to Pencil Cafe hidden on Harkness Ave. Swinging it open and walking up the three steps to the main seating area, it’s as if you entered a charming indie apartment. A plush doll rests on the waiting area seats in front of the cashier. Rainbow string lights are pinned above a shelf of books on the wall, with abstract art reproductions in harmony with the cheery yellow paint. A mantled unicorn head, …
