Wide receiver Marcus Anderson had four touchdowns, two on returns and two on pass receptions to lead PCC to a 35-17 win over Riverside on Saturday at PCC Robinson Stadium. After returning a punt 77 yards for a score late in the first quarter to give the Lancer’s (6-2) their first lead, Anderson gave them their second and final lead on an 88 yard kickoff return for a score on the opening kickoff of the second half. When the Lancers needed a lead, Anderson answered the call.

After Anderson’s return gave the Lancer’s the lead at 21-17, the defense shut out the Tigers (4-4) and allowed only 98 yards of offense in the second half, forcing struggling starting quarterback Coy Glass out of the game in the fourth quarter. Linebacker Jason Scott led with 15 tackles and two sacks.

The Lancer offense was clicking as usual, out gaining the Tigers by 157 yards, with standout quarterback David Pittman and receiver David Reed adding to their already record setting seasons. Pittman led the quick hitting offense, passing for 254 yards on 30 of 40 passing and rushing for 53 yards. Reed led the Lancers in receiving with 10 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown.
But the real story was Anderson, who was named one of the Mission Conference’s Players of the Week. Anderson added to his special teams explosion with 74 receiving yards on six receptions and two touchdowns.

Freshman running back Joshua Morgan ran for 71 yards on 10 carries, possibly providing a glimpse into the future, considering the pending losses of key starters on offense next year.

The Lancers face Cerritos on Saturday at 1 p.m. for homecoming, and will play their final game of the regular season against Santa Ana on the road Nov. 17. The game against Santa Ana was rescheduled after fires cancelled the original game on Oct. 6.
