This is such an unfortunate situation. Darryl was a friend of mines and a very sweet man who loved everyone around him. There are a number of previous articles on his last situation that made it seem like he was a bad person, which isn't the truth. I feel like the school as well as the media ruined Darryl's life by making him out of some type of monster sex offender. Everything Darryl was involved in were big misunderstandings. Darryl wanted nothing more then to make it in Football. He was trying to stay on track and because of some silly girl having a tantrum and him defending himself, he was stripped of that. I don't condone suicide, but just imagine, you're a young man who had issues with the law but you were still given a chance to do what makes you happy and then one day everything is gone and you're back in Prison. Can you blame the guy?? I pray the Lord had mercy on his soul and he's in a place where he can finally get a break and actually be happy. R.I.P Darryl Stephens Jr.

Sorry, but the COWARD, desreves worse than what he did to himself. Why not go sit in prison with real killers? Darron Henderson had nothing to do with this cowards problems. It dosn't matter than a Black Man is in the White House. Our problems in Black America cant be solved because we have still believe, deep in our hearts, most of the historical lies white people told us about our selves. Every heard of "Willie Lynch". If you havent look it up. Black life is still not valued or respected, by whites, browns, or Blacks. He is a Bad Person, He Killed an innocent Black Man over a 200 dollar despute. Now he's inflicted pain on two families.

Darryl was a teammate of mine, and he was a good person. Its fair to say that he had his share of problems, but he was on the path to getting his life back on track. What PCC Athletic Board did to him was unjust, and its a shame that Coach Lawler and Stephens were affected in such a negative way.

In the past, the Courier portrayed Stephens as a bad seed, and one who should not get a second chance at a positive life. I believe its unfair to represent him in that way. He wasn't a model citizen, but he was a good person. He had a strong work ethic, both in the weight room and on the field, and you could tell he was trying to get everything together. Its really sad to see it end this way.

Check it. A little something to trump what Raffi said.

I hear comments like "he was a good person" and "he was on the path to getting his life back on track" all the time from misguided people defending violent criminals like Darryl.

Darryl was nothing but garden variety thug that would have spent the rest of his life in and out of prison with a string of victims flailing behind him.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
