Thank you for your interest in advertising with the Courier, the weekly student voice of Pasadena City College.
Enrolling about 30,000 students, PCC is the eighth largest single-campus community college in the country, and the greatest concentration of young adults in the San Gabriel Valley.
Now in its 95th award-winning year, the Courier brings news, opinion, sports, and entertainment to a diverse population with upward mobility and buying power.
The column-inch measurement of an ad is approximately half its area in square inches, calculated as the product of its width in columns and its height in inches.
Local advertisers may calculate the cost of a display ad as its measurement in column-inches multiplied by $10.
Prices for some popular sizes are listed on the Display Rates table, below, which lists prices for one-time buys.
Frequency discounts are also available, and listed following.

Because repetition is key to effective advertising, the Courier encourages insertion in multiple issues through the following schedule of discounts:
| After two issues: | 10 % | |
| After eight issues: | 15 % |
Frequency discounts will apply after the minimum number of identically sized ads have been published in a given semester. For example, if you advertise four times, the first pair of ads will be billed at full price, with the second pair receiving a 10 percent discount.
However, the following prepayment discounts will apply to every issue:
| Prepaid full semester: | 15 % | |
| Prepaid academic year: | 20 % |
| 1 column: | 1.92 in. | 11p6 | ||
| 2 columns: | 4.00 in. | 24p | ||
| 2.5 columns: | 5.04 in. | 30p3 | ||
| 3 columns: | 6.08 in. | 36p6 | ||

| 5 columns: | 10.25 in. | 61p6 |
The Courier's classified ad section is available for the private-party advertising of the PCC community. Classified ad rates are $1.50 per line per week, three lines minimum, with a typical line holding at most 25 characters, fewer if uppercase.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday prior to the Thursday edition, and e-mail submissions to courierads@yahoo.com are preferred. Please leave contact information in case last-minute adjustments need to be made.
All ads must be prepaid in cash, with payment accepted on campus, in CC208. An exception may be made if you allow time for your check to clear before publication.

The entire publication of the Courier is written, edited, composed and photographed by students of Pasadena City College. Our business approach is to minimize non-journalistic operations such as billing and collections. Therefore we ask new advertisers to prepay until an ongoing relationship can be established.
When billing arrangements are reached, payment is considered due and payable upon publication. All accounts must be paid before the final edition each semester. An advertiser's written notice to cancel must be received by the normal insertion deadline, Thursday, at least seven days prior to publication.
In order to respond to changes in publication costs and competition, the Courier may revise its rates and policies at any time. Should a revision be necessary, existing contracts will, of course, be honored. A 30-day protection period will be given to new advertisers.
No alcohol or tobacco ads will be accepted. All advertisements must conform to good taste and promote legal, legitimate products and services. The Courier reserves the right to refuse any advertisement.
Tear sheets will be mailed as proof of publication.
